Chaya
Community Guidelines
Chaya exists so that you can find people to share a cup of tea with when you are far from home. These rules are here so that everyone feels safe and comfortable; accounts that break them are restricted or closed.
Be yourself
- Use your real name and your own photos. Do not use someone else's photo, a celebrity photo or an AI-generated face.
- Be honest about your age, university and city.
- Have only one account.
Be respectful
- Harassment, threats, insults and bullying are prohibited.
- Hate speech based on origin, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or political views is prohibited. Chaya is a Turkish-speaking community, but it is open to everyone; nobody on Chaya is excluded because of their origin.
- "No" is an answer. If someone does not reply or blocks you, do not insist and do not try to reach them from another account.
- Do not bring political debates into a chat unless the other person wants to.
Chaya is not a dating app
- Do not send unwanted romantic or sexual messages.
- Nudity and sexual content are prohibited in profile photos and chats.
Respect privacy
- Do not share screenshots of chats, profiles or game screens outside Chaya without the other person's permission.
- Do not share another person's address, phone number, school or location without permission.
- Do not pass on a friend's location on the map to others.
Play fair
- Do not cheat, use bots or use a second account in games.
- Do not fix match results or lose on purpose to inflate statistics.
- Do not buy or sell Çay outside Chaya for money, goods or services.
No selling, no scams
- Do not ask for money, loans, investments, crypto or "business opportunities".
- Do not trade rooms, flats, visas or documents; do not advertise or promote commercially.
- Do not offer illegal goods or services.
What happens
| Violation | Possible action |
|---|---|
| First-time and minor (e.g. spam, inappropriate photo) | Warning, removal of content |
| Repeated or moderate (e.g. persistent harassment, cheating) | Temporary restriction, reset of Çay balance |
| Serious (threats, sexual harassment, fraud, fake identity) | Permanent closure; reporting to the authorities where necessary |
We explain the reasons for every decision and you can appeal (Terms of Use 1.9).
How to report
Tap the three dots on a profile, chat or game screen and select Report. The person you report will not see who reported them. From the same menu you can Block the person; someone you block cannot find you or message you.
